John “Burke” Batten is a native of Douglas, Georgia. He attended Coffee County High School, where he played football and was selected as a Class AAAAA All-State Honorable Mention Quarterback, the 1-AAAAA Offensive Player of the Year, and a 1-AAAAA First Team All-Region Quarterback.
He attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Religion. Burke was also a four-year member of the FCS Bucknell Bison Football team. He graduated from Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Burke prides himself on being a general practitioner and is experienced at analyzing any legal issue clients may have. Burke consistently advocates for adults and juveniles who have been charged with a crime. He also handles an array of civil issues, including intentional torts, business formation, real estate contracts, and other disputes.
Burke is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. He is a member of the Atlantic Judicial Circuit Bar Association, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Young Lawyers Division and the General Practice and Trial Law sections of the State Bar of Georgia.
